How to Schedule Your Bluesky Posts for Maximum Reach

Bluesky's feed is chronological at its core — which means when you post matters as much as what you post. Scheduling your content lets you hit peak hours even when you're asleep, traveling, or heads-down on something else.

Why timing matters on Bluesky

Unlike algorithmic feeds that surface content hours or days later, Bluesky's default experience rewards recency. Posts that land when your audience is actually online get seen. Posts that go out at 3 AM your time often disappear before anyone notices.

The typical peak windows for English-speaking audiences:

  • 8–10 AM ET — morning scroll before work
  • 12–1 PM ET — lunch break
  • 5–8 PM ET — evening wind-down

Your niche may differ. If you post for a European audience, shift those windows forward by 5–6 hours.

Setting up your first queue

  1. Connect your account — go to the Accounts page and add your Bluesky handle and app password (create one at Settings → App Passwords in Bluesky).
  2. Compose a post — use the composer to write your post, attach images if needed, and pick a scheduled time.
  3. Let it run — scheduler.blue checks your queue every minute and fires posts at the exact time you chose.

You can queue as many posts as your plan allows. Creator plan users can queue up to 100 posts at once; Pro users have no queue limit.

Using CSV import for bulk scheduling

  • Use thread drafts — for longer thoughts, write each reply as a separate queued post a minute apart.
  • Monitor engagement — Bluesky's native analytics are improving. Check which scheduled posts got the most replies and adjust your timing accordingly.
